Advocating at IEP’s
We all know how tough it gets when it comes to agreeing on IEP Goals and placements with schools.
Here is how to prepare to advocate for yourself with knowledge of rights, responsibilities, and techniques to have a fair chance of winning at an IEP meeting.
Ms. Prabha Cheruvalath (Senior Program Specialist Sp. Ed.), will be conducting the workshop on the following dates Jan 11th 2020, Jan 25th 2020 and Feb 8th, 2020 and Feb 29th, 2020
This will be an opportunity for parents to learn about how the system works.
These classes will be 2 hrs each and will be conducted in the following topics :

How to read, understand and interpret IEP (different sections)

Learning about Legal rights, appropriate terms, denial letters in IEP’s.

How to propose a change to an IEP (preparing documents, sending effective emails)

Discussing some of our cases and brainstorming to help with strategies.
